I dont like pollinating anything after the 10th of July. Last year was the first time in I dont know how long. Because of having to reset a main vine on the 1535.5 Barker/Pugh it will again be a post 7/10 pollination. Hopefully not too much after. 7/01 2118 baron x 2054 Wallace 4L 7/03 1652 Zappa x 1109 Jutras 5L SQ 7/07 2014 Paton x 2054 Wallace 5L 7/07 1652 Zappa X self 5L (back Up) 7/07 2118 Baron x 1535.5 Barker/Pugh 5L(back up ) 7/09 2054 Wallace x 1535.5 Barker/Pugh 5L So that leaves me with my 1535.5 Barker/Pugh pumpkin left. I appears about 4 to 6 days out which pollinating anything after the 10th has only been good for 2 pumpkins for me. One was a new PB at the time of 1272, the other was last year with a 1100+ pound balloon. The 1525.5 Barker /Pugh wa 2145 McMullen x 2469 Daletas that developed a soft spot at 101 days old. I was set to go to a early weigh off that ended up being cancelled and it had to sit for nearly 3 weeks on that vine .

Well this year definitely wasn't one of my better years. Extreme changes in temps, trying to rebuild a garage and moving over 600+ yards of dirt that that was delivered periodically through out the summer made growing a challenge. 2 of 5 plants did not produce anything I will try to post some pics of the better things that I was able to have some success. My crosses for the year are: 1162 Barker 2118 Barron x 2054 Wallace went roughly 9% heavy 910 Barker 1525.5 Barker /Pugh x 2118 Barron My most excited cross was a squash cross. I My 842 Barker x 1109 Jutras I had Called Cindy T in late June and asked for some pollen The pollen I got was off her 1109 Justras which ended up going 18% heavy at 2030 pounds. needless to say I was excited to see her squash do what it did. I had planned on not growing next year. Now I may have to give my 842 and 3 other pumpkins a shot.
