Day 10 since dry seed.

Sunday, May 10 View Page
Nighttime temperatures were expected to drop in the low 50s. So decided to fabricate a temporary greenhouse and throw my thousand watt viparspectra grow light inside. Worked out better than expected, kept an Ambient Air Temperature of 86 degrees all night. And a bonus of a temporary rain shelter for bad storms if they come in the near future.

Current photo of today. Jumbled mess of pictures before this post all leading up to this day. 3 seeds were filed and soaked in seaweed water on April 29th for 12 hrs. Today I noticed growth on the stem. Decided to go ahead and Hill up around the stem adding another 3" of soil, with azos and myco. Noticing Vine borer eggs already, counted eight. Dipple dust first out of the Arsenal this year. Soil still damp from first watering.

Day 13 since seed soak. Best plant thus far. Short and stout. 3rd true leaf showing.

Today marks week 2 from a dry seed. Transplant shock looks minimal if any. Shade cloth may be needed the entire growing season here in Texas. Added the shade cloth with temporary hoops yesterday around lunch time. The growth between then and now is just amazing to watch. I see now on my first year of GP growing the potential in the plant. Im hooked!

Product of 3 lbs. Seed potatoes. Non chitted 75 day grow of Yukon, pontiacs, purple viking. Pulled early for the smaller potatoes which are my favorite. Think I'll try two 20 foot rows next year instead of just one.

Water logged Soil condition slowly improving day by day. High nineties yesterday, cloudy today in the mid-80s!! So decided pullback the shade, and throw on the light. Hopefully rebound for some lost time. The Deluge of rain from earlier calculated at 2,800 gallons of rain > 24 hours .

First full strength phos feed/worm tea for pumpkins. Can't decide whether to pull the corn stalks as a Vine reaches or to just lay them over and grow the pumpkin on top. Decisions decisions ...

Harvested 1 double row of sweet corn. Tilled, laid drip tape. Temps been in the high 90's over a week now. Shaded GP is showing better growth over unshaded. Adding more straw and another support hoop tomorrow

Wednesday, June 10 View Page
Sweet corn harvested. Entire 40' x 40' cleaned and now the pumkin patch. Past week has been brutal with heat. Tuesday heat index was 104°. Secondaries are not as vigorous as I hoped. I'm sure all this heat has a lot to do with it. Big gains at night though. Main. 7' or so.
