Day one of the new patch: till in grass. Gratitude for the tiller... Thanks Richmond Dave. In case you are wondering what's on the center? it's a leprechaun trap, baited with Lucky charms and gold Lego. It will remain in there until the day afterSt patties day. Designed and constructed by the kids. If they catch one we all get three wishes. After world health and family health, I wish I will get a pumpkin on the scales this year.... A PB is a bonus. Also, unlimited thanks to Jodee for giving me her blessing to grow the pumpkin in the South aspect front yard.

Here is the plan of attack. The growing box is 14 ft 7 by approximately 15' 7", approx 203sqft. The caution tape indicates the 150 sqft area. 125.75" wide x 171" = 149.33 sqft.

Actual plot. Intend to transplant in the next few days. Heating cables are on. Again, thanks to Jodee for her blessing to utilize the South aspect front yard.

Transplanted Friday morning the 15th of May. Covered with remay. It was cloudy with showers all weekend, in my judgment it's prefect natural transplant conditions. Let them have some sun yesterday afternoon, and full sun today. They're doing well. Remay still goes on at night to keep a little heat in oh, and more importantly keep the critters from having a midnight snack

Pollinated first female today. I am excited even though it 8s on a secondary. There is one 8' out that will open any day. There is another 10' out. Fingers crossed the sun stays. Has been wet and cool. The positive side is the urgency 4 irrigation set up is minimal.

Pollinated this 5.5 lober today. Has a half developed 6th lobe. I'm going to leave it open even though I hand pollinated with worn out, wet males.

Pollinated this beauty today. I was a bit late getting to it and there was some bees in it so this will stay open. Two others (far north and mid section west) on secondaries. Was a relief to have a few males open too....This plant takes the cake of all time regarding number of females and positioning. Hopefully they stick. It's been 2 years of aborting for me......??????

Finally got the door on the shed and feel safe now to install the fertilizer pump. Just in time for the heat wave. Terminated the main yesterday and hoping at least one of the many pumpkins stick as the real estate has run out. Looks like the money pumpkin aborted....... BOO

63 OTT, 25 circumfrance. Hope it takes.....still suffering abortion PTSD from previous year. Plant is completely buried except for what's ahead of this. Will remove it once established and let tertiaries directly behind fruit fill in. Closest tertiary is following the main vine to replace any worn leaves.

Officially named Mister McKraken. It has been cracking and splitting.... and nothing into the cavity! This beautiful stretch mark arrived yesterday. 228 OTT

243 OTT about 322lbs. Averaged about 13 lb a day , 6 days when I was away. You can see the new leaves trained to follow the main. Next year I'd like to send a tertiary closer to the pumpkin back down the main. If you look closely you can see the fan blowing on the stem

The bridge inside split. About 3/4 inch deep. Thankfully it didn't penetrate the cavity. I hope the front of this thing is at least 8 in thick if this continues. I put sulphur dust on it, and it was fairly wet, hence the fan. Fingers crossed

Crack finally penetrated cavity today. Sprayed it with isopropyl. Let dry. Fill cavity with roofing mastic. Cross fingers. Hope it holds for at least a month. Would love to carve it for halloween.
