Again, not a good year for large pumpkins: The regional weather phenomenon of the so-called “sheep's cold” was more pronounced this year, lasting around two weeks, than it has been for decades. Since the soil in my greenhouse should recover a little, no pumpkins will be planted there this year ... with one exception: After a five year break, I want to take the opportunity to polish up my old PB for giant tomatoes weighing 1.63 lbs ..... Seedline: -5.55 Dabrowski18 ( 3.39 Metel x open ) -4.62 Lyons15 ( 8.41 McCoy14 x open ) -2.86 Wagler19 ( 5.95 Koniecny16 x open ) -2.86 Wagler18 ( 4.14 Rohrdieck x open ) -2.86 Wagler16 ( 7.27 Wiesli15 x open ) So far it's been going pretty well

On top of that, it is now so hot and dry that most of the assimilates evaporate through the leaves during the day instead of being fed into the fruit in the evening ...
