Well, we are pretty much settled into the new place, 2 moves in 3 years so we’re staying here for a while. Good news we have 3 acres- bad news is undeveloped with a large pond in the middle.

This is the young fella on the pond/rink. I told him to enjoy it because it’s going in the Spring.

I don’t know what this plant or berry is.

This is a pic of the plant. My daughter asked me what it is and I don’t know. It just started producing some kind of fruit.

These are all back ups, from 10 year old seeds and the cross is 670 Daigle x self. The mother was a small but beautiful pumpkin. Although it's late I will be growing at least one of these to keep the genes going. The 670 Daigle is one of my favorite orange pumpkins ever.

May 13 and I'm looking outside and it's snowing. Between this and the self isolation I'm getting a little nuts. Not long ago, we would have temps in the 20's in May.

I found this on the road this morning while out for a run, looks like some kind of pin.

Just one more angle. Going to post on the message board to see if anyone knows what this is.

Good news bad news. This is day 5 from the 670 Daigle x self. ( 670 is my favourite orange ). Bad news is that everything is two weeks behind because of the cold Spring and the plant is not nearly as large as I would like. Now begins the balance on growing the plant and fruit before a sink is made where the plant stops growing

Well this is not what I wanted to find. We had quite a storm last night and stupid me didn’t think to secure the vine. The split comes right after a female ready to open. I don’t know whether to cut the vine or leave it.

Well the hits keep coming. We got about 3 inches of rain last night, obviously too much to handle.

Powdery mildew has come early here on the cucumber plants. I googled “ anti fungal” and this comes highly recommended. This is going to take all day!

With all this heat you would think the beets would be suffering, but they are all doing well.

This one is the tallest and still going strong.

Last pic of the beets. The one on the right, and the previous two pics are giant yellow eckendorf. The one on the left is mammoth red mangel.

Of all the peppers growing this one is my favourite. It’s a Christmas tree pepper plant, or , sweet pickle pepper. Unlike othe “Christmas tree” peppers, these are supposed to be very edible. They are just changing now.

Nothing special going on in one of the pepper houses except for the fact that all of these plants were in terrible condition only a month ago. Seriously, as a last ditch effort I placed two mint plants and one citronella plant in there and now they are all healthy, albeit, way behind. The plants had serious infections of aphids and something was causing black spots on the leaves.

2020 certainly has been challenging. More pics soon, hopefully of decent pumpkins.

Now all I need is a magic Johnson zucchini

I bought this plant on a whim back in May. The nice lady said it should grow 4-5 feet tall, now it surpassed 10 feet. The place where I got it is closed for the season and I can’t remember what it is. Great plant, zero maintainance.

I started a side business about two years ago making high end live edge tables. Maybe I sold one a month, if lucky. Turns out, people want this. Galvanized pipe for legs, can’t keep up. If my 1983 Community College marketing certificate tells me anything, give them what they want!

Last peppers and tomatoes of the season, sigh. Gonna try to grow some inside. Only spinach left growing in the garden.

I’ve sold a ton of these recently. At first I didn’t get it but now I do. So many people want to celebrate the Holidays and abide by the COVID restrictions at the same time. I’m very blessed and fortunate so everything goes for cost + $5. Average price is $20 No I’m not looking for extra sales, I retired recently and this is fun for me.
