My 1425 with being pollinated with 1225 finally taking off after three days. Plant looks good but my 347 plant is about 18 feet long and will pollinate it tomorrow with my 1812 plant. For some reason it was very slow getting started.

Pumpkin vines looking great, but the pumpkins are growing slow, biggest only softball size. I cover the pumpkins up with shade hoping that will help from the hot 90 plus days we are having. Only have 6 plants going but hoping to have a big one to take to Harvest Homes Fair the first week in Sept, to keep my record being first place there plus the prize money. Then have a big one for the weigh off in Hamilton. This year I will not put a pumpkin in Hamilton County Fair. I had the largest one for few years and the fair is first week in August and the first place is only $5.

My five pumpkins are at a standstill for last week. I guess the heat is really effecting them. I been trying to keep them water and only thing doing great is my vines but the pumpkins are staying around a baseball for last week. They been to get moving since last year at this time, two was over 150 lbs.

Wish would get some rain instead catting 5 gallon buckets back to them. My Warner 1810 finally broke the 50 lb mark. Got a long way to go. My 1245 is looking very promising, great round shape and tell it will be a nice orange color. Figure it will break the 50 lb mark in few days.

Dap is 30 and is only 95 lbs for two of my larger ones. This heat and dry weather is killing me. I do carry a five gallon pails of water for each of my 5 plants everyday but needs so much more, especially rain.

What are the chances for Harvest Home Fair, two of us tied for first place. Both of us had 214.5 lb pumpkins. Guess should brought my bigger one but only 20 lbs more. First place is only one to get prize, so go big or go home.

Lost one pumpkin that was going to fair, three splits. Guess feeding too much trying to make up for lost time. Got one that is only 100 circumference and hoping it takes off for fair or got two that are only 125 lbs and starting take off also, too little too late. Only a month to go now.

Another one bites the dust with this Mid 90's for extended period. Plus got 4 more days like this before cooler weather. Only got two left for our fair next weekend. Fingers crossed that I don't loose anymore.
