Getting closer to start time..patch is bare but frozen solid..access road to backyard will hold me up for a while..still ice and snow..Snowed 11/3 and hasn't left yet...cold, very long winter. Never in my 60 plus years do I remember snow sticking that early and staying. Frost went deep..warmer weather and lots of rain by Monday should help me out.

I had two tandem loads of aged manure delivered today.About 14 yards per load..first load down the center of the back half of the patch

Tuesday, April 23 View Page
2nd load across the other half and part of the load for the 150 patch on the left out of main patch area..this area sat for 2 years and when I tilled yesterday it was black soil..I had grown in that area and there was manure there before..should be good to get started..will draw more aged manure in a couple weeks

Friday, April 26 View Page
Hauled 20 yards of compost yesterday..will probably bring more in after I haul the rest of the aged manure I'm looking for. Will end up with about 6000 sq ft for the main patch. Started several more of my own seeds for backups and a few for giveaways.

A foot of rain in the past week has made the waterfalls disappear. In my 60 plus years this is the 3rd highest I've ever seen the river. This is normally a spring event. That is one angry river.

View from the other side of the bridge. This is where the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers meet. The dam is shut down on the Sacandaga to prevent more flooding. They will need to open it real soon. Major flooding is to be expected.
