I received my soil test back this week. I took this sample from 8 holes 6" deep about 15' apart. This will be my starting point for around 3k sqft for 3 plants. I will start the soil prep now and hope to get it close by spring. It was hard taking the 2019 year off to move but I will make up for it in 2020.
Sent out a re test for my soil based on abnormally high calcium numbers on the first one. Want to validate before balancing soil. I chopped down the grass and marked the 3 plots. They are 40'x 40'.
Good thing interested, it was advised that I do and boy am I glad I did. Calcium and PH change and would have drastically affected my amendments and season next year.
I bought a middle plow, sub soil buster for my tractor. It did a great job getting down at least 12" and turning over the sod. I will be going back this weekend and add 100 lbs of lime and roto till after that I'll sow a cover crop.
