2005 Haist crossed with the 2416 Haist. This plant was a problem child from the beginning. It is in my small area so I'm hoping for at least 8-900#

2416 Haist, low plant this year so far due most likely to the cold wet spring or maybe I finally got the soil balanced, I usually have waist high leaves by this point. Self pollinated 6-24. Looks like it might be orange!

2416 haist not much happening, over 1K but the rains have caused too many issues, lots of PM and some kind of leaf disease probably fusarium in soil as well. may be time to rest the patch for a year as Ive grown giants here since 2011 and it was a veggie garden before that since the 90's.

Front end 2416, Also had a swath of svb's to cut out, about a 6-8 foot wide path across the plant was filled with them. Seems the imidacloprid didn't get to the newest parts of the plant at that time and it was open to attack for a brief window as there were none before or after this 6-8 foot area

2416 Haist Just didn't get into the July-August rapid growth phase, consistent high 30's/day. It does have very dense flesh and thumps solid so hopefully its heavy. Still doing about 8-10/day and tapes about 1200.

https://www.wkbw.com/news/the-now/his-backyard-may-be-small-but-his-pumpkins-are-huge Did a news interview for one of our local stations, turned out pretty good. They cut out all the good technical stuff I talked about and kept it simple.

2416 Haist ended up at 1462....18% heavy!!! I didn't think much was going to happen this year as the pumpkin never got above 40/day. It ended up doing very well despite a very wet and dreary spring, borer damage and some type of leaf disease. This pumpkin was selfed and was used as the pollinator of my 2005 Haist.
