Time for another season. Today a very good seed arrived here. It is a 2170 Daletas. Planned this year are two plants and 1200 lbs as goal. 1500 would be great. I will put in much time and efford and have two 1000 l Tanks that i can use one after another for warmer water reasons. I want to plant this Daletas seed and also a 1733 Wallace. Backupseeds will be: Another 1733 Wallace, 631 Rupf 18 and 548 Rupf 18. Greetings from south germany.

So my two plants this year will be 2170 Daletas and 1733 Wallace if they do fine. I just transplanted them in bigger pots this evening. The pots in the picture are just the germination pots.

Today i decidet to plant the two main plants out. Here you can see on the left the 2170 Daletas 18 and on the right you can see the 1733 Wallace 17. This wood is to create microclimate and also save the plants from to much wind.

Today i was digging some more of the pumpkinpatch. Before that is did a thin layer of very good soil with longtimemanure. Also i did some sheepdungpellets on the ground before i was digging. After that i slackened the digged ground a little and then added another layer of the good soil. This year i want to reach 500 kg so it has to be 1102,5 lbs.

Tomorrow there will be good pumpkin temperatures here in south germany. Here you can see the 2170 Daletas. I think this one has great potential because the vine is already so big..

Wednesday, June 5 View Page
Today i had to cut off the tio of the 2170 Daletas.. it is a multiple doublevine.. :/ Now i hope to get a secondary as new mainvine.

With the 1733 Wallace everything is fine. The mainvine should touch the ground soon..

Bad news from the 1733 Wallace plant.. Here you see the first female flower on the mainvine... bud sadly it is connected to the sidetwine.. Mutation 1..

Friday, June 14 View Page
And here the next female flower on the 1733 Wallace mainvine.. also here the same. The pumpkin is attached to the sidevine.. i think this will cause massive problems.. Time will tell..

Here you see the third female flower on the 1733 Wallace mainvine. Finally it is a normal layout. I am happy so far.

Sunday, June 23 View Page
The meteorologists say that there will be a massive heatwave in germany, beginning tomorrow. On thursday they say in my region there will be 95 F.. Very high for this time in the year.. This flower on the 1733 Wallace will open on Wednesday i think.. so i have to cool the flower i think..

Sunday, June 23 View Page
Here you see the complete 1733 Wallace plant. Healthy but not as big as i wanted it for the first pollination.. But i will pollinate anyway..

Sunday, June 23 View Page
Here the 2170 Daletas with the cut mainvine. A secondary is now growing as new mainvin. Also another secondary was also going into a flatvine, so i also had to cut another one. Also here i will let grow a tertiary vine to let the vine go on growing. I am hoping that now no mor problems will occure..

Sunday, June 23 View Page
Here you see a root. Yesterday there was massive hard rainfall for like 5 minutes. All the soil got very soaked and the result is now that a root was growing out of the soil into the air.. :P

Today a update of the pumpkins here you see a shelter against the sun for the 631 Rupf 18 x 2170 Daletas 18 today on day 17. This plant has not much space and is just planted to see if the 631 Rupf does not make doublevine or other mutations. To far the plant is doing fine

Here you see the tro keepers on the 2170 Daletas. The smaller pumpkin is 2170 Daletas x 631 Rupf(new mainvine) today on day 12 The bigger pumpkin is 2170 Daletas x 1733 Wallace(sidevine) today on day 16 I will let both grow and see what happens with them.

Monday, July 15 View Page
And finally the 1733 Wallace x 2170 Daletas on the mainvine today on day 15. It has some stemsplits that look as if they are healing up. There was a extreme change from heat to cool weather and when the pumpkin nearly was laying down it got cold and the splits happened.. I think he will do fine..
