So these are my pumpkins, these i belive are atlantics about 2 weeks in the ground. Photos are 4 days old, leafs started yellowing, maybe beacuse we had alot of rain. I sprayed rot stop, it seemed to burn the exteriors more. 4 days later up to date. Plants look alittle better but we got more rain, the ground is soaked. Mounds are buggy with small gnat like insects, sevins dust not effective, still searching for a good insecticide.

I put half strength fertizer in the ground today as they had not been fertilized in 4 days. This afternoon the plants are looking rough, dry and i guess chemical burnt. It rained again

Interesting enough my plant that got the most burn is also my largest plant. Its growing quick despite the burn and on the plus side today i was able tofind a store that sells the pesticide eveeyone was telling me to get that i could not find and (imacloprid)????spelling. Also they have fish fertilizer, seaweed and a 0-0-60 fertilizer so thats a big plus.

Still deciding which of these two plants to keep. Fyi my healthiest plant no pictured or basically i throw away that i put in a planter with 2 year old miracle grow soil. I will need to transplant it aoon

Monday, June 18 View Page
I replanted the potted transplant today. The root network was much much larger than i had expected, hopefully idid not sabotage rhe plant but it was potted anyway. Other plants its obvious im going to lose a few leaves to burn but the plants themseves are doing better. Growing slower than i want but growing, im expectingb them to take off soon. 85-90 degrees for two days the ground went feom soggy to topsoil cracking. Layed down extra soul and compost to make the mounds bigger for moisture holding

Plants look good today, even the transplant looks good and actualy it corrected its own posture. Gave them pumps some seaweed yesterday at .25 strength no adverse effects. Gave mutiliple plants imidacloprid no adverse effects yet, going to wait another day or today before granulated the rest of the plants. Have been experimenting with sprouting Hollands silver bullet, Monster smash and super pumpkins, usind different soaking times, soaking in seaweed, soaking in light fert and just water. No action from them yet, All seeds were lighty sanded. A white pumpkin peet pot planetd a few days before sprouted, as did some lil pumpkemons, not sure if something went wrong with the Hollands. I gave another .25 dose of seaweed this am to the roots. Supposed to rain later. Backyard still very bugy. Will likely start lighlty foliar spraying in a few days. Oneplant has yellow edges on one yellow.... low K?????

Lots of overnight growth, but lots of spray damage as wel only on certain leaves. However i havenot been spraying, put some sevens dust on a few days ago, not sure it thats it. Regardless its definity going to be setting me back. The damage looks like spray damage with holes in it. Will try to post pics tommorow

Leaves are growing quick, still worried them however. Yellow edges are leaves are all torn up. Should icontinue to stick with seaweed? Should i start raw grow fertilizer low dose? How often should i seaweed? Can i foliar spray seaweed yet? Foliar spray raw grow yet. So many questions.

We have gotten a ridiculous amount of rain in the last 24 hours. Pumpkin plants are basically planted on mounds in a swamp right now. I am hoping we get some sunshine soon. Gave the plants some fertilizer today due to yellowing leaves. Notes for next year, put a lot of peat moss in the pumpkin mounds, maybe 1/3 bag per mound to help with the drainage during these storms.

Woke up this and the pumpkin plants were supper wilted likey from too much water of the about week straight of rain. The sun came out and they all perked up. I came back from the gym and two of them died or are dieing. They wilted over and look gone, on of them even split at the stem and u can see clear goo.. what really sucks is that one of the plants that died was my best plant ugh

Heat index 103 today. Gave pumpkins a healthy watering and good dose kelp at 1/8th. Tookbthe advice of others here and tried to till up some of the surrounding land. - i found that my soil is extremely compacted, im a rather strong individual and utilizing the manual twisted cultivator tiller with foot stomp pedal is very ineffective in my nonplowed yard. So rocky and so much clay, Spent about 1.5 hours in the heat working on the soil only to break my new hand cultivator, great quality lowes. Spend a little more time section burying parts of the vine on a low mound, i will eventually work the vine into the original soil as the vibe drops more. Hoping all the work wasnot to much stress for the plants -note i did leave segments around parts of the plants non tiled for safeltyvreasons incase i didnot leave a big enough buffer zone for roots there will be atleast some undisturbed soil.

-Secondary vines shot out and started growing fast all of a sudden, yay. - main vine must of grown 7- 8 inches in the last 24 hours. I will likley give a low dose of raw grow or kelp tommorow as i wont be able to check on the pumps for a few days. -Some of the pumpkin mounds started growing small mishrooms. I sprayed daconil on the mounds and planta

Thursday, July 12 View Page
The very big female flower bloomed today. Not any viable males on the same plant however. A neighboring pumpkin has several males on it, that plant is smaller but may have to do for the time being. Flowers were swarmed with paperwasps And even some honeybees... really hoping the pollination took

My best vine, minor vine growth overnight but a few more female flowers are showing up. On the bad side i broke a leaf watering today. Ground is having mixed spots of dry and wet soil. Mushrooms appearing

Looks like my pumpkin pollinated so thats good, however the newest leafs on 3 of my plants are all jacked up looking like a shrived bloated look with several look like they are bite up with holes. I can seem to find many bugs at all on my plants however. I gave the big plant npk bloom and the second biggest miracle grow to see if extra nitrogen helps out secondary growth

Obviously, not putting on size like i had hoped but it is growing. Still hoping to reach 100 pounds but i think that might be excessive thinking for my small plant.

Woodstock is growing pretty good now, removed another tap root today and got a board under woodstock. When i got back yesterday there were a few other plants with powdery mildew. I used up the daconil i had i dusted a tiny bit of sulfur on the other leaves. Got more daconil today. Also i have a few mini pumpkins growing good now, an all white with nice ribs, two green ones that look like they will be stripped after they turn colors and a nice bright orange.
