Renewed enthusiasm for the 2018 season. Just got back from the NEGPGA winter luncheon. Great to see every body and hear Steve Connolly's bushel gourd presentation. Joe Jutras talk about his world record squash. Woody Lancaster Admit that even he doesn't feed his plants enough. And George Hamilton talk about squash bugs and yellow vine disease. I was asked what my line up was and drew a blank because I hadn't looked in a while at what I was choosing. This is my lineup. I am hoping to get a couple second seeds of some of these so I can plant double and not have to choose between one good seed or another. really wont be changing it up much I have so may good seeds I have to choose and be positive.

Are there 2 types of bushel gourds we are growing? The 2 seeds on the left are my 189.5 and the 2 on the right are from a 175est. Ciesielski (177 Westfall x open. They look very different.

Had a bad start. 1 of 10 seeds came up on the first try. 6 out of 7 on the next try. About 3 weeks behind on plants. Feeling better about where I’m at now.

So here’s to 2 productive weekends. Still behind but feeling real good now. Heat cables in plants in final till. Walking boards for the first time for real. Now to relax. Oh but I need to do that and this oh and that. And those things. And umm that and that and that.

Looking good 9 pollinations s as of today. A couple more by the end of the months and I think I’ll be done and down to choosing. Bushel gourd is a bust this year but I have a small plant at the back of the patch. 4 plants doing nicely.

Patch update. Really filling in nicely. 1912 is the slowest growing plant. With 2 pollinations s on it. The 1297.5 young is growing like a beast. 4 pollinations. Will be culling soon. The 1944 Connolly is growing a pumpkin real fast and my 561.5 is also growing a pumpkin at the same rate as the 1944.
