First night of frost here in Umeå in Northern Sweden 28th of September - -2.5 Celsius. The forecast threatened with even lower temperatures the nights ahead so I decided to to bring the pumpkin inside. I do not know if it is true, but I have a suspicion that the fertility of the seeds will degenerate if frozen. I almost had a heart attack - I kid you not - hauling the pumpkin inside this evening. I'll try to weigh it tomorrow. Maybe it'll weigh >75 kilo. My record is from 2014 (record warm summer and autumn) with > 200 kg (scale hit its maximum).
I almost did not make it - but now it is inside the house. My poor wheelbarrow almost died (it was a crappy whellbarrow to begin with). All in all, not a very successful season. But hopefully I'll get some seeds for next year. If so, me and my father will have an epic showdown of Arctic pumpkin growing ;) Thank you for you attention and I apologize for my poor English. /Daniel
