Having a hard time uploading to my Diary. April 1st, Easter Sunday. The snow sure is taking it's time to melt away. Going to be cold all this coming week. I hope the weather changes real soon so work can be done in the patch for the up coming season

Woke up this morning to four inches of snow.Snow plows were out at 5:30 a.m. Been thinking, maybe I been cursed. A great pumpkin grow earlier told me that I won't be pollinating until mid August. He's such a great guy and I enjoy visiting with him at the weigh-off's. Maybe this year I've been cursed as I finally figured out what I've been doing wrong growing these giants and I was hoping to have my best season ever this year....:)

We set a record for April 2018 for being cold. Old record average was 35.1 set back in 1935. New record is 34. Seems like this cold weather is never ending. 28 this morning and snowed during the night. Pumpkin patch is still frozen. Maybe the good Lord is telling me this isn't the year to grow and to take the year off.

We finally got some good weather the last several days. I was able to spread about 50 cubic yards of home made compost. All planting areas are tilled deep. Doing several things different this year I never did before at each planting area. Some amendments added at each site and tilled in deep... We got four days of rain coming. So I covered each planting site with plastic.
