This first flower opened before I even realized it . . . so it is open pollinated. Calling this plant #4, 1220 Foss x open. Photo is 3 DAP.   Monday, July 3 View Page Caught this one - and was surprised when I untied the flower to find 6 lobes. Plant #1, 690 AFoss x Shaw (1985 Miler/2009 Wallace).   Wednesday, July 12 View Page Plant #4 - this is 11 DAP. Decided to name this pumpkin "Hope". Poor plant survived a hail storm mid-June, has a ribbon vine, and since I tried to split the end of the main vine (to somehow control the ribbon vine) the end of the main vine wilted and had to be cut. It has been very hot here - mid-90s - 100 degrees and wonder if this is why?
