Starting Bhut Jolokia's early was a bad idea without a greenhouse. Thought they was gonna die but now with the warmer weather they are looking like they are going to make it. Gonna put them in 5 gallon buckets so I can bring them in for the winter and then set them out again next year.

I found out why I should have been staking the main vine. I thought it was only to control the direction. I think it grew too fast and broke itself. It's not broke all the way so I tried to doctor it up. I guess we will see.

Here are the backup plants I planted from some eBay seeds that were supposed to be Dills Atlantic. They are some kind of squash. Glad I didn't choose to plant them in the middle of the patch.

Cut taproots, side-vine, and leaf near this pumpkin. I'm not sure the stem should be bent like that so I guess I'll try to straighten it out over the next days. Almost looks like a kink near the vine but it is growing super fast.

Picked secondary vine pumpkin that quit growing. Found out that the secondary vine it was on had a vine borer. Pulled it and got a couple pictures. 88.2 pounds.
