I started four seeds inside under a 400 watt MH grow light. Went with all UGPG seed pack seeds this year. 1731 McConkie 1817 McConkie 1278 Gerber 1002 West Are the chosen ones this year. No rhyme or reason just The first four I grabbed. Will see how it goes!

Transplanted the 1731 and 1817 McConkie and the 1278 Gerbert to 5 gallon pots. I put the 1002 West outside in back patch #2. Didn't think it would make it but it's actually toughing out the cold rather well. I cover it at night and open dusting the day.

Ready for the new season. Looks like waiting till after Mother's Day rule definitely applies this year. Maybe even later with the cold nights coming this week!

1731, 1817 and 1278 about ready to go in the ground. Wind beat them up quite a bit but I'm sure they will be ok. Not sure which is going to be my main plant this year.

Haven't updated in a while. The front patch has the 1731 McConkie. The other McConkie snapped in the wind and didn't make it. So the 1731 is in the ground out front. It's doing pretty well. Slow growth so far but in the last few days it started putting on some length. Will measure and update later.

This is the 1278 Gerbert in the back patch. Same as last year, the squash bugs got it early and it's all kinds of deformed. Strange how they hit that patch every year but I see none out in the front patch. I doused both patches with seven today and keep killing all I see. Decent growth but not sure how it's going to progress. Been under a hoop house for a few weeks now. Covered this patch later than the front.

Looks like I have outgrown the hoops out front. Three hoops is too small now. Guess I need to go to five! McConkie is running fast now. 3-5" a day.

First female on the back patch today as well. Looks like it's going to be a race on both patches. This one looks a little better than the front patch but we will see!

Front plant is doing well. Growing realllllly fast! Strange yellow vine though. Don't know why.

The back plant is my rockstar this year. Strange as the plants I grew back there last year were really crappy. It's bigger than the front but not as long. More side vines than main progress so far it is the first to have flowers though.

The 1278 Gerbert first female opened this morning. Pollinated with two males from the same plant. Tied her up and she's on her way. It's nice and cool this morning so Let's hope for the best!

Upgraded the hoop house. He to go bigger. Looks like it's not going to last long as fast as she's growing.
