After last year I decided a few changes were in store if I wanted to truly be competitive. So I decided to take my 2nd year of growing to redo my patch. My entire yard has a pretty good slope. I began by removing all my existing topsoil.
I then put all the previously removed topsoil back on. Then I added 16 ton of new topsoil, 6 yds of compost, and 4 yds of sand. After tilling everything in, the patch was planted with Mighty Mustard.
Ended up with 4 respectable kins. The biggest measuring a little over 600#!!! The 2 pretty ones on the straw bales were grown from seeds out my 1306.5 from last season. With all the work which went into my patch I can't wait till next spring!!! Next year it's game on!!!
