Well this season started out as the wettest on record. This was my rice patty on May 5th. I almost did not bother this year and i was going to work on some drainage issues this year.

Had a very very bad start to the season but its back on track with all of my plants. The extreme wetness caused me to pull every single of my first and second batch of planted plants. Even tho i had mounds and mini greenhouses the saturated water was wicking up soaking my soil causing everything to stall and or rot out. After pulling my plants my 3rd batch of seeds were filed around May 8th and put in the ground shortly after.

2 of my plants are a bit stunted where as the leaves look awesome but the leaves are small in comparison to what is normally seen in my patch. Although my plants have caught up my pollination dates are all after the first week of July this year.

Looking forward to Day 20's on my pumpkins to see where i sit. I grew 6 plants this year and all are in pretty much all the exact same shape. Even the plant with the main vine which rotted 16 feet out looks awesome and hope to get something from a secondary. I been on lots of business trips this year and i am so so glad every thing is automated where i can take off for a week and only have to worry about vine burring and damm weeds. I will post again in another 10 days when my day 20's come around.

I have not posted in a while been quite busy traveling. This was a picture back in early July. I was very very disappointed i lost this one. Boron and Calcium are great and back end blossom was super thick. It was self inflicted by me pushing this plant as I was trying to playing catch up since i planted so late this year. I really wish I could have seen this day at 20, 30 and 40.

Another painful loss. This was a picture from day 10. I went to Winnipeg for a week to visit my farm and before i left i checked all the pumpkins and I should have re-positioned the vine as it was already tight. Well damm the gains for the week away was stupid and I won't bother posting that weekly gain because they don't matter if you can't bring the pumpkin to the scale at the end of the year. Well the short of it was while i was away it grew up pinched and split the main vine. It looked very fresh so it must have just happened either in the morning or soon after before i got home that day.

Today is Day 45 on this pumpkin. The pic is from Day 30. Its the worst plant in the patch by far. I assume if this plant was anything like any of my other plants i most likely would have popped this one too. The height of the curve on my daily numbers didn't even cracked 40 pounds on this one. Its still steady rolling right around 30 a day. Had some very good early on growth around day 15, that's growth cracks you can see.
