Well.. Apparently the party had already started by the time we got there...some his buddies were already enjoying the pool...he invited us to swim but nana and I both looked at each other and decided neither of us liked skinny dipping all that much...so we decided to head into the house...

Well...I've been away from the site for a few days...been busy...yea...super busy...let's see here...what have I been up too?....um...oh yea...I wrestled a grizzly bear...and won...I was called down to the zoo to get control of a hungry 400lb gorilla that got loose...(I beat his ass back into his cage)....hmmm..what else?...oh yea...I pretty much foiled a bank robbery by grabbing ahold of the guys bumper and flipping the car over...(I think I deserve a medal)...either way...I was feeling ok so I decided to check in on the discussion board and there it was...rebels post about Lily ...uugh.. Thanks everyone...it means a lot to us...this one is rough...oh yea...and an extra thanks to rookiesMom1..i haven't cried in about an hour...thanks

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
Ohhh There's our girl...truth is...to say that we are inside out and sideways wouldn't even come close to describing how we are feeling about this one ...Lily was going to be 8 yrs old this Halloween and was the absolute love of our life..the doc said it was probably a heart tumor but the X-ray showed her heart had filled her entire chest cavity...(so she pretty much died because her heart was too big...) Shock shock shock... There's a saying about the border collie, something like "once you befriend a border collie any other dog is just a dog"...it's true...she was so smart...I remember having a 20 minute discussion with her in the spring about taking the chimney out of the house so she would have more room to run and so daddy could peek in and catch her sleeping on the couch before I got home to see her ...of course...we took it out...she was our everything...

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
There's another saying about the border collie..."the border collie trains it's owner"...I remember that one...I remember thinking to myself...hell no..hell no is this crazy puppy gonna train ME...nut uh...I had this sweet little thing wrapped right around daddy's finger....she was so happy

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
We got in trouble a lot this spring when mommy would catch us falling asleep at lunchtime...thankfully there were many moments like this in recent months...uugh

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
Speaking of mommy..she's a mess... (And she's not even a crier)...we've been staying up in the garage since spring while the house is under construction and it's been so much fun...we just pushed all the tools to one side and set up a little apartment for ourselves ...it kinda felt like we've been on vacation ...now it just feels like we are sleeping in a shitty garage..

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
Man oh man was she quick as whip ...and she'll snatch that frisbee out of the air like nobody's business...the missus said "she was every 10 yr old boys dream dog"...and she was...made friends wherever she went...that's my buddy otto in the pic ...he hates dogs...He teared up when I gave him the news...they became pretty good buds...

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
Oh man my buddy Clint ...he brought his daughter over when he saw a post about Lily on facebook...they were real good buddys...Clint and Lily had a really special bond...here they are fishing in the St. Lawrence River ...such a sweetheart...she would stand there for hours waiting to catch a fish.,, Then there's the neighbors...some mornings Lily would just show up at their back door and bark until someone opened up...lol...just to ask if anyone was available to toss her the frisbee...it was the funniest thing...

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
When the neighbor found out about Lily on Friday he left work at lunchtime and came home to paint this portrait of her...I couldn't beleive it...(tear)...he brought it over that evening...this dog was really special

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
We had a deal her and I ...I would throw that dam ball till her hearts content, but when she got tired she had to let daddy mess with her...

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
And she got tired....

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
And she got messed with...lol...I miss her so...

Wednesday, September 6 View Page
Ya know...I think Lily stopped by Sunday morning to say one last goodbye and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't fighting back the tears as I let some imaginary frisbees soar over the patches..she loved mornings like this ...she absolutely loved it here ...it's hard to believe she's gone and the once beautiful gardens now seem cold and grey...neither one of us can stand to be out there so I guess it is what it is this year...it's just not the same... My sweet sweet girl Lily ...you will always be in our minds and in our hearts...we love you

I'M STILL HERE Friend, please don’t mourn for me I’m still here, though you don’t see. I’m right by your side each night and day and within your heart I long to stay. My body is gone but I’m always near. I’m everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart as long as you keep me alive in your heart. I’ll never wander out of your sight- I’m the brightest star on a summer’s night. I’ll never be beyond your reach- I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach. I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around and the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond, The clear cool water in a quiet pond. I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring. I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you’ll see that the face in the moon shine is mine. When you start thinking there’s no one to love you, you can talk to through the Lord up above you. I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze. I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face. Just look for me friend, I’m every place! ~Author Unknown
