Babysitting our plants today. Don't want the new lights to burn them. Not sure how close to the plants we can go. Moved the light up to you 12 inches above the plants.

A look inside the hoop house. This is the 2004 Vander Weiland. Double planted, one will have to go. We had ants in this hoop house. A granular was used to kill the ants. We have a fan going because the plants were flagging due to the heat. We also put a shade cloth up durning the heat of the day. At night it gets cold and we use small heaters along with heating cables. We sometimes blow fuses so we keep a radio going, if the power goes out we will know.

Hard picture to take. One of the leaves on the main vine caught the main and kept it from hitting the ground to fast and kinking. We didn't need to support this one the plant did it its self.

Got the leaf out from under the main, main laid down perfectly. Now we will wait and see if the leaf straightens it's self out. If not it will be cut off.

The easy decision. 1338 from first batch and 1338 from second batch. 5 days sure made a difference. In addition the 1338 from the 2nd batch grew in the wrong direction. We didn't correct it because we both knew the other one was going to be our keeper.

Today's project: mow the weed crop down. Note to self: if you store your seeds in a hot pick up truck you will grow a weed crop instead of a cover crop.

Here is the 1338. She got pretty beat up by the wind. It has several leaves damaged. We will be using a double layer of wind protection on this one.

1688 Martin. This one is from our 2nd batch so it is 5 days younger. Not the best shape plant. Secondaries are uneven. A few vines got twisted from the wind. It is early in the season, she could still come around.

This is the Glaiser. She has about 5 leaves damaged from the wind. Even with protection it just wasn't enough. We need to find ways to up our game in this area.

The secondaries have been stunted. We had some pretty bad storms come through and splashed mud on to them. This happened to every plant on the west side of the plant which is the direction the storm came from. It nailed about 3 secondaries per plant.

Had to move fast today. The bees are out in full force and my flowers are very attractive to them. Crossed the 1338 with the 2145. 2 proven producers. Let's hope for a grand slam.
