Flatnorm thinks this is the biggest bottle of beer he has ever seen. He plans to gather some pumpkin friends and enjoy it soon. Pumpkin-Olli brought it all the way from Germany to the convention in Niagara. It was quite an honor to receive it. Thank you Oliver

FlatNorm had to re-measure his 150 square ft patch to be sure it is the correct size. The white square marks where he will install the heating cables.

Finally, heating cables are in, drip lines installed and the new hoop house is completed in FlatNorms 150 square ft patch. Seeds will start soaking tomorrow.

Switter 150 patch on 9 May. His comment was "Here's an updated pic of my 150 patch. I'm about a week away from hitting the ground." While Flatnorm enjoys the updates they really belong in the growers diary.

FlatNorm has his 150 contest plant out in the open and its ready to rip. He dodged a storm with hail last night and this morning FlatNorm is ready to put bnot, mobymike and Tiger girl on notice he is playing for keeps this year. Catch me if you can.....

Looks like she opened right on schedule but flatnorm decided to cull this one immediately in anticipation of a later one, out a bit more on his 150 square foot plant.

Flatnorms 'patch pig' better get out of the way especially with the warmer weather about to get here.

FlatNorm pollinated the first potential 'keeper' this morning even though it was cold and the forecast is for rain. Its either this one or the next one and he will be all in.

one should always be observant when spyinging

Wednesday, June 21 View Page
Second possible keeper pollinated this morning.

Sunday, June 25 View Page
Third and final pollination on the 150 plant today. Only time will tell which one of the 3 will survive. Flatnorm likes them all but can only have one.

Monday, June 26 View Page
Flatnorm is all in with his pollinations in the 150 sq ft patch. He rearranged the main vine today to make the plant more compact and keep the latest pollination back from the end of the patch. He marked the 3 of them with 'flags' so you can see where they are in the patch. The plan is to terminate the main at the chosen pumpkin and then move it towards the center. Pollination dates are 16, 21, and 25 of June. Lets the fun begin.

Flatnorm deciced these 2 made the cut , cut off that is. He will post picture of the keeper as soon as he can get the mill fabric under it.

Thursday, July 6 View Page
FlatNorm started the day by chopping off a lot of his 150 square ft plant to make room for the mill fabric now that he has a 'keeper'. Nobody needs all those extra leaves, right?

Thursday, July 6 View Page
For better or worse here is the one that FlatNorm will pin his hopes on. Turns out it was the first one pollinated on the plant. Now its a sprint to the scale.
