Flatnorm thinks this is the biggest bottle of beer he has ever seen. He plans to gather some pumpkin friends and enjoy it soon. Pumpkin-Olli brought it all the way from Germany to the convention in Niagara. It was quite an honor to receive it. Thank you Oliver

FlatNorm had to re-measure his 150 square ft patch to be sure it is the correct size. The white square marks where he will install the heating cables.

Last year Flatnorm started the season with 3 seedlings but this year only 2. He hopes this is not the start of a new trend in his patch.

Switter 150 patch on 9 May. His comment was "Here's an updated pic of my 150 patch. I'm about a week away from hitting the ground."
While Flatnorm enjoys the updates they really belong in the growers diary.

Third and final pollination on the 150 plant today. Only time will tell which one of the 3 will survive. Flatnorm likes them all but can only have one.

Flatnorm is all in with his pollinations in the 150 sq ft patch. He rearranged the main vine today to make the plant more compact and keep the latest pollination back from the end of the patch. He marked the 3 of them with 'flags' so you can see where they are in the patch. The plan is to terminate the main at the chosen pumpkin and then move it towards the center. Pollination dates are 16, 21, and 25 of June. Lets the fun begin.

FlatNorm started the day by chopping off a lot of his 150 square ft plant to make room for the mill fabric now that he has a 'keeper'. Nobody needs all those extra leaves, right?

For better or worse here is the one that FlatNorm will pin his hopes on. Turns out it was the first one pollinated on the plant. Now its a sprint to the scale.

The scale was 'zeroed' with the lifting ring and all its associated parts so the weight shown is the true net weight. The pumpkin was subjected to a complete inspection by Judge Lloyd and his assistant. Once all the laughing stopped it was declared DMG once it began to drip and open at the bottom.
