132 Pridgen grafted on fig leaf gourd rootstock. I've been busy with work since the holidays and have been slack updating my progress on my first attempt at hole insertion grafting. Photo is of graft 3 days removed from healing chamber. Note the lack of green in plant. I'm assuming it was because it had been in the dark for about 6 days.

Day 12,which is today. Plant is growing beautifully. Funny thing is there are 8 true leaves on plant. Nothing has started vining yet. Plant is bushy. Is this normal? Leaves are big and very green. Plant is a little more than three weeks old from germination.

Plant is around 17 days after healing chamber. I can't believe the growth rate of this plant. I normally feed my plants a diluted fish/seaweed mixture when starting. Not this one. Plant is showing 12 stems from the stump. Cannot determine which would be the main or which would be considered finger vines. If it puts as much into the fruit as it does the vine growth, the possibilities are endless. I'm assuming pruning and deadheading would be a full time job with this.

Grafted 132 Pridgen. Plant starting to vine now. Also getting a little leggy, but I attribute that to the lack of real sunlight. Plant is almost 1 month old from germination.

Grafted 132 Pridgen 65 degrees today. Was able to get some real sunlight for once. Wide is growing impatient. Tying up her sowing table. I wonder if it will flower. Main and one finger vine about 12 inches in length. Main vine has produced roots at the nodes so I have pinned it to a pear pot to see if it will root. So far,so good Plant is about 35-36 days old.

Found this on graft today. It's interesting to me,because plant has spent about 5 hours outside. Other than that it's been a regular house cat. Have not treated with fungicide because it was never intended to be planted out. What say ye?

Day....... I don't know.Have to go back and do the math. 132 Pridgen grafted to a fig leaf gourd rootstock. Plant has three vines now.My 3 yr old son deadheaded the main for me at approx. 14 inches. One finger at approx.24 inches.A third approx. 6 inches growing on back side of plant. Plan was to practice grafting this winter, and now I just want to see it flower. Plant has contracted something (downy mildew ?) I think it has been caused by the grow light. The plant has appeared to sweat at times. It's a small light, and there is a lot of plant packed under there.

Note the yellowing of the leaf and brown spots. Started on one leaf and now has spread through plant.

Been busy and haven't updated in awhile. Started 6 tomatoes(Big Zacs)about 4 weeks ago. One failed to germinate, one damped off,one is growing, but very slowly so he is likely to make the compost pile.

4.79 Terry. My first mega blossom. I'm guessing a double? Not much for the heavy hitters I'm sure. I'm excited nonetheless. Just big blossoms on the 5.05 Reinhard.

Set on the 4.79 Terry. Don't know if it qualifies for the Porkchop slammer alert. Lost my first 2 sets to BER. Now have 2 growing on same plant. Think both will be ok,as they are much larger than those lost.
