Each year I have different problems and don't get the result I want BUT each spring I get excited by the prospects and so here we go again! Another reason to grow Giant Pumpkins is because it feels like yoga every other day in a garden filled with life.

Everyone on the New England east coast is dealing with the wind today! When I was setting up my wind barrier I came across a baby pumpkin from our 1,190 Berard '14!

Good calm weather and a female on each plant. One is 12 feet out and the other is 13.5 feet out. Will be pollinating this week. Have not seen the squash vine borer yet.

The little guy on the left got pollinated on July 4 and the guy on the right has been growing for a while. Hard to imagine getting rid of the guy on the right but at the same time trying to cool the one on the left so that it doesn't abort.

Hated to do this but we are going away and two symmetrically opposite holes were developing in the area where the stem and pumpkin connect!
