First entry of the year. Two plants of 1610 Lieber genetics.Interesting to compare the differences between the two plants. After the plants were shredded by hail early in the year they made a comeback. Early August pollination. In a week the one closest should be headed towards South Dakota for weigh off.

Posted the first entry from my iPhone. This entry is a test from my computer. This is the stem side of the 1610 Lieber x self waiting for the road trip Oct, 3. The mottled orange is quite different than the other pumpkin, which is a 2nd generation Lieber selfed. Pictures of that one will be coming in the future.

This is my baby pumpkin. It is a selfed 184 Lien 2012 (1610 Lieber x self). Grown in 150 sq ft. Mid May germination. Shredded by hail early on. No vine burying, no tertiary trimming, no weeding. Mid August pollination. We call it the dog patch pumpkin because our dog was the primary caretaker. Taping about 360 lbs now. It is my choice for next year to see what it can do with proper care.

The engine hoist connected to front of the allis worked as planned. My growing partner kept a close eye on the loading.

Won the hd award at the South Dakota weigh off. I wasn't sure which pumpkin I brought actually was the winner. My other was an exhibition so this must be the official winner. 710 borgers 2015 (1610 Lieber x self). While taking pictures I noticed that lighting really makes a difference in appearance of the pumpkin

It has been a slow beginning to the winter grow challenge. The black pot is my entry for the tomato category. The white tubes are 1/2 of a 1/2 of the carrot category. The center tank is my significant other's hydroponic beginning of the (alt+€ŁĄ) category. At the rate we are progressing the season might be over by next winter.

This winter grow challenge is becoming more work than I had anticipated. I cleaned out a storage room to convert to an indoor garden. So much more to do, but at least there are seeds in the soil.

Warning....giant carrots are dangerous. Good thing US customs are protecting us from this menace. I would figure if they could figure out giant carrots were "Daucus carota" that they could at least spell my last name correctly. It is Borgers !

Thank you gaochao! My daughter and myself are enjoying looking at the monetary style of China. I find cultural exchanges to be most valuable. I wish for you to have a great growing year.
