73 degrees today!what a shock coming off of a week full of 40 and cloudy. I will be taking the year off from the giant pumpkins again and going after a 212 lb field pumpkin;) I won't be starting the FP seeds until early to mid June. I will also be going after the 10 lb tomato! I will use the exact same small plant method this year.I will be starting the tomato's in 2 weeks.

I finally invested in some greenhouse grade plastic for the ends.man this stuff is clear! The plastic I was using before was very cloudy and you could hardly see through it. I also had to replace it every year and this way I won't have to:)

The Zaczilla plant to the left had the biggest roots of them all when I tranplanted them. They were already coiling at the bottom of the pot at 2 weeks old. I planted 1 8.41 and 2 5.03 boudyo's out without there first true leaves showing yet. That's what I did with my 6.88 plant last year. We will see how they compare again this year....but I think they will catch right up with the others and have bigger tap roots???

Here is a nice 2 day old 6 bloom off one of 2 zaczilla plants!this plant will be topped off in 2 days when it reaches a height of 24 inches.as the vine grows and thickens it will be around a 30 inch tall plant.

Another huge bloom off my 4.57 MacCoy. The 8.41 bloom did this same thing and took about a week to pollinate. 7 out of 11 plants are topped off with tomatoes growing on the first trusses.
