about a week ahead of last year so far....hoping for June 15th. pollination. I have 4 plants in cloche now (2 pumpkins and 2 squash) and will pull 2 of them in the next month. So far the 943 Haist is outgrowing the 1014.5 Kuhn and my 751 is outgrowing the 2032x2009 cross but still too early to make a final decision.....loving the weather this week!!

This is a picture of my 751 that I grew last year. With its seed i'm hoping to break 1,000 this year. So far i'm about a week to 10 days ahead of last year and would love to pollinate in the first week of June!

still about a week ahead of last year, hopefully with the warm weather expected over the next 7-10 days I can get her on the ground and running sooner than expected! At this point i'm glad i took down the 16x16 cloche because i'll be able to take down my pop up cloche in about 5 minutes and put it back up at night.

We've had great weather this week and the plant is loving it! I have a pumpkin on the tip which should be ready to pollinate in about 7-10 days.....i'll have to give her some nutri-aid and couple other goodies this weekend and then coast out to pollination.

second pollination will be tomorrow.....hard to say just yet if the first one took or not. About half of the side vines are dead ended as well as the main...need to get some length on the other vines as fast as possible to minimize SVB damage.....I still can't believe I let my wife talk me into organic giant pumpkin growing...we'll see!
