A special thanks goes out to a special pumpkin grower. We raised $1095 dollars for UCP. Your pictures will be posted as soon as we get them from the photographer. On this eve before mothers day. Please remember there are many mothers out there, with angels for children. I happen to be married to one. Even though I have had some ups and downs raising my daughter.. I am always thankful

I have females that are going threw false pollination and are starting to grow without ever opening. I have had two so far that should have been ready and are not flowering. Guess we wait and ride it out and wait for the next ones at 16 feet. At least my plants will be big enough.
Odd thing is they are not aborting either. Stupid Pumpkin Plants. I had a dream the other night. That I quit pumpkins to grow strawberries...

So we set a leg hold trap. Possums like to chew on pumpkins. Hopefully their was only one. He is now resting peacefully in the compost pile. Hard to tell if he is dead or not

Here we are Lifting LOIUSE out of the patch. Not to others lock the tines when you narrow them. We were up at travel height, when the weight of the pumpkin pushed the tines in. To me and all the spectators, it looked like she dropped out of the harness. Good thing we were at travel height or she would have bounced.

I think we all feel this way once the season is done. The act of cutting the pumpkin from the main vine, gives me so many mixed feelings. What could I have done to make her bigger? Did you do everything possible to give her optimal conditions? Excited that I have a Healthy Sound Pumpkin. Happy that it is Big and Orange as I had planned.

I Love, how carvings look when you incorporate the stem end in the face. As soon as I start doing this, I remind myself why not to do this. I had to remove 20 gallons of material, to make THELMA, off the 1374 Engel light up. She was a very thick all around the pumpkin. I believe this will be my seed for 2016.
