The plan for this year was to have 2 pumpkins and 1 squash. 1730 Werner, 1623 Wallace and the 1324dmg Kline were the final picks and started late April, but I lost the 1730 at about 4' due to grower error. In its place I planted a couple of Field pumpkins. 134 Coolen, 97 Dill. Also this year I'm trying a gourd trellis..

Amazing the growth, variety and still a little shocked that it worked.

1623. What looked promising early on has turned into a learning experience. It stopped growing early in August and from what I've been told probably had mosaic virus. It got very warty, growth slowed and the leaves were a little discolored. On the upside I had a fruit that I could take to the Shawville Fair. 552lbs was the final weight.

Last day in the patch. The leaves are long gone. We had a hard frost Sept 18 which killed it but it has been slowing adding inches over the past month. 344OTT

Always a favorite, the Prince Edward County Pumpkinfest. Our kids were asking to go back for the parade and weigh off. The squash and helpers are loaded and ready to go.
