Ha ha feels good to finally clean out the basement these plants are larger than the outside this year has been really cold outside and I could not afford to heet with electricity in the cold frames I wish I could afford heat in the cold frames I did use candles but that just does not compare

Everything is a little behind this year however the morels have been tasty and very abundant

2012 may 29th looks twice as good as 2014 I hope plant will catch up at least to previous years.

Saturday, May 31 View Page
I gave um some Epsom salt and Hollands bio calcium growth finally started. I need to start imoclorprid 1.47% ortho tree and shrub. That had worked great last 3 seasons for vine bores No worries about them. It's the squash bug population I fight every year soon as plants are uncovered.

We'll last post was false I can't leave out my 625from a #1000 grenchik selfed seeds were thick brown hard shells and took longer to germinate. Than the white thin shelled seed. So they have been behind since day 2 in germination. There around 4 or 5 days behind. I still need to choose 1

Something is checking out FP patch I hope not the wood chucks I haven't seen one 2 seasons now. Can't tell what these prints are from. Any one have idea what it might be?? I have electric fence wire up three runs high first one is 3"to 5" off the ground I have seen wood chucks in previous years go rite under it and just rub there back on it without even a twitch. I hope it was a raccoon or cat. Mirrors, shiny metal flashing fastened to polls to flap in the wind, radios, need to do list just som precautions. don't have Time to hunt

First time for everything. Yup got another new pest this season. Cut worm on beans. I've never seen holes like this. I found cut worms in them.

Sunday, July 13 View Page
Lol this ones doing the same about an inch today I can't even hardly see if they were growing so I measured them three days in a row. This plant looks sick nutrient deficiency maybe too much squash bug juice so I'm not expecting much from this one

Sunday, July 13 View Page
Well all the plants I have tried to pollinate this year get about this size pumpkin then they just about stop growing but they're growing. I'll be happy just to get a pumpkin couple hundred pounds maybe a few of them that size

Yahoo ya I see an early cover crop in my near future in my AG patch. All plants are showing yucky looking sides. All mains are growing with a curled under tip and have pumpkins that are growing slow. So I think it could be the extremely cool weather keeping the bacteria at bay somewhat? Could be some deficiency. My other plant show this to weeks ago and the same yellow vines with tips pointing up turned green and started to curl their tips and grow again. Pumpkin growing slow slow slow. On that as well

Any one ever had a kin look like this @15 dap? I will cull this one as long as next one pollinated is growing soon. It's putting on 1" cc a day that's usually what I get the last couple weeks of growth not the first couple.

Tuesday, July 15 View Page
Joze this is my leave that's about five or six back from the tips that look like yours picture so I will be interested to know what your test results are I don't know how much tissue test cost but I am very low on funds this year

Wednesday, July 16 View Page
This is the fourth squash vine bore that let me pet him this season. With great pressure:) this means I will be doing surgery to my FP patch soon. Untill I figure out a organic systemic that works for the grubs I will just keep digging them out with my knife and hemostats. Kinda a ritual hear. Anyhow it's a controllable problem as long as I dig deep into frass I get larva %97 of the time. So this is nothing comparable to what the squash bugs bring to the fun.

Wednesday, July 16 View Page
Going with number 3 on main cut off 2nd 700 SW this plant is in bad condition but is growing fruit on the first couple secondary's and main has new one that looks like it may grow. RIP my #625 @ 29DAP stopped growth curve a few days of go and noticed a small tiny Rot spot on the Blossom today I split pumpkin in half an noticed rot was on the inside of the pumpkin only pumpkin I had on that plant. So plant is being ripped out making room for the weeds to grow??

How convenient this BigPumpkins.com app is on my phone it makes it too easy anyhow leaves have greened up great I have added a lot of Pee to my barrels next with my bio calcium from Holland seaweed from Holland and some blossom booster I also added 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt per gallon. ran out of funds this year so I needed a nitrogen and I used what I could. It's just so cool how it actually Greened my plant. Back pumpkin is approaching 400 pounds and the main is approaching 500 I hope I can keep The fruit going now that I think I finally found out why the plants were yellow also I have been using sulfur bonide fruit tree fungicide pesticide and infuse. And a imoclorprid

Two more weeks. always wait till October second Saturday for 11 mile trip down the road with my old rusty truck and trailer. Got the tent over to keep it dry from the rain tonight and layered up with quilts and sheets The plant still has quite a few green leaves which is good for this time of year for me considering I had a late set on this one July 11. It would be thrilling to get a couple more inches of growth on the fruit
