On another note, I have been making BIO Char for the past 3 months... I plan on making another 50+lbs in the next 2 months. Once everything is done, I will wait until May to charge it and get it into the soil. Ohhhh Yeahhhhhhhh buddyyyyyy!!! Pictures to come.

Got my soil sample back. The best results I have ever seen. All that time I spent last summer adjusting the soil really paid off. All I need is a bit of Phosphorus, Manganese, Iron Sulfate, and Copper Sulfate. My PPM levels are so close the guidelines that someone very special gave, to me its scary...

Note to self... 60ft heating cables are a bi&%$. I'm growing back to back this year so I decided to go BIG to get real BIG. At least the soil and the hoops will be warmer. Also went with greenhouse grade translucent plastic this year. Next year, Green House Glass!

I have also been going crazy trying the get the microbial activity back to what it was after I did a chemical cleanse last fall do to some minor disease I noticed and hopefully contained. A lot of effort going into my inoculated cover crop. Ten maple trees tapped this year, and everything is going to the cover crop and soil. ;-)

2032 Mathison 30 Days. For anyone growing the 2032 Mathison, this plant is extremely vigorous. Potential ribbon, but would most likely correct itself given the time.

Well, I made up my mind regarding one hoop house and its contents. Culled the 1789 Wallace and chose 1725 Harp, like there was even a choice. ;-)

My other hoop house is another story. It is still home to the 2009 Wallace and 2032 Mathison. 2032 Mathison is a monster but I believe it may have ribbon vine issues from the looks of it. The plant itself is noticeably larger than the 2009. I have spoken to a lot of growers who say the 2009 Wallace is a bit slower out of the gate. Once the 2009 gets going, watch out... So I choose the 2009 Wallace, just haven't culled the 2032 yet. All I wanted to grow this season was the 1725 and 2009.

2009 Wallace and 2032 Mathison. Both beautiful plants, but the 2009 Wallace (Right Plant) is the chosen one.

Had a female on the 2009 open this morning un announced. Only half the flower was developed so I was certain tomorrow would be the day. Half the female opened and exposed a perfect symmetrical 5 lober. I decided to cull it and wait another 8-10 days. I'm shooting for pollinations rite around the 26th. There is a female on the 1725 that will certainly open tomorrow, so I have to decide if its going to be the one or not. There is another one at the tip but it will be another 8-10 days. I am going for all or nothing this year.

POPPP. Tears and anger... My 1725 Harp, "Harpetta"blew hee blossom end on day 39 at 357" OTT= 1002lbs. Wow, this pumpkin really wanted to grow. It is 4ft tall and 4+ ft wide. This is the part of growing that I hate. I may take a few years off after this year.

2009 Wallace "Wally Coyote" is at 50 DAP and is 380" OTT, Rite at the 1200lbs mark. Growth seems slow but pumpkin still looks great with no netting. Plant is in great shape as well. This kin seems Heavy too, 1409 Miller showing its face. Hope to keep her growing. There is a lot of rain in the forecast, up to 3" and that makes me nervous.

2009 Wallace Wally Coyote is 57 DAP and 415"OTT. 1484 LBS and no signs of netting. The pumpkin and plant look fantastic. Just getting a picture now because these warm days and cold night are really making me nervous. There are stretch marks in the blossom end and I'm scared to take blankets off kin in the morning.

Well, a day after the last picture I posted I started dealing with some serious disease issues. I had backed off the heavy duty fungicides and I never should have...I have thrown everything in the book at this disease issue. I even went out and purchased $$$ Subdou $$$ You live and you learn...

Hello, To everyone requesting my 1625.5 seed I truly appreciate the interest. I made a commitment for a certain number of seeds to various clubs and organizations/fundraisers that I have to honor first. After that I will do what I can with the personal requests. I hope to fill as many as I can and still have a small stash for myself and our clubs seed sale page.
