Well first round of seed germination didn`t go very well . 996 Haist did not sprout so I will be starting another 996 Haist (I did manage to find a backup just in case) also starting a 1177 Haist . 1634 werner is the best looking AG . Gonna be a long season . Long gourd seeds are really tuff to germinate . Not having much luck with them .

nothing happening here . Plants look worse every day thinking there is disease in my patch . Gonna try one more plant if I can pick it up . If it does not work out I will just put the mustard seed to grow and take the year off . Haven`t been to the PGPGA weighoff as a spectator in awhile .

Managed to get a couple plants off of Larry Checkon . I finally got a chance to pollinate a pumpkin this year . Don`t think it will grow to be big because of a very small plant behind it . At least it is something . Really enjoy reading those PA growers diaries since I have a lot of spare time on my hands .

Just back from being a leader at our annual week long church youth camp . Have not got to the pumpkin patch yet but was told nights at the house were high 40`s and low 50`s all week while I was gone . Don`t think much growth is going to be recorded when I do 30 day measurements .

I hope this picture up loads right . Here is a picture of my little squash . Andy and Ned try not to laugh to hard at the size . I did not post earlier because of it being so small but don`t want to be accused of being a sandbagger .

The other one on the 1059 V/M . It is great shape and color , may be a Howard Dill contender at Altoona .

Posting those picture is nice BUT it does not indicate what could have been . I lost a 996 Haist and a Checkon plant to disease . The 996 plant was huge . Real bummer...

This field pumpkin is off of a 80 Larue . The first signs of orange just showed up today . Question for you field pumpkin growers . How many more days of growth will I be able to get out of her ? She`s not real big but it could be a new PB for me .

Here is the two week update . No growth here because of the really cool nights . The squash looks the same size as in the picture from two weeks ago . Just trying to hold on till the Altoona weigh off .

Got this spot done today . It will be home to a 81 wolf and a 1947.5 Clementz if I can get one . Still need two more good Saturdays to get mushroom soil/ compost hauled in and tilled into remaining patch .
