1427 jarvis seed 61 dap tapes 371 inches still growing slowly mainly ribs i think cantgrow much more as it looks pretty mature to me not sure if my measuring on this one is accurate as it is a hard shape to do

picked my 1427 jarvis at 70 days old started to get a few tiny soft spots so we picked it and it had crushed its stem underneath not surprising its shape i have another 1427 jarvis growing and its the same shape also so we decided to weigh it officially

i got two well known pumpkin growers to come around and officially weigh it with me john mills on the left and tidge knight in the middle and we hired some scales from coastal scales and registers in lismore

result looks good 575 kilograms biggest one that i know of in australia so far theres still a bit of time left this season and i know john mills has a couple of big pumpkins up there plus i got 3 more left in the patch and hopefully all the other australian growers can beat there pesonal bests

other end of 1427 i planted this one a bit later than my first jarvis and the vine got rot in it and you can see where i chopped it off it healed up fine but even after loosing half the plant and regrowing new bits it has done quite well when it happened i nearly pulled it and the 1650 sproule out as it suffered the same disease both at the same time buti am glad i kept going with them now as they havenet turned out too bad

this is a friend of mine john mills with a 511kg pumpkin he grew using a 1133 kline seed it taped 373 inches

johns biggest pumpkin this year was grown from a 1430 kline it taped 389 inches and weighed 570 kgs both johns pumpkins went over there estimated weight

picked my 1650 sproule today it taped 399 inches and weighed 382.5kgs sure am happy with that and still got two left in the patch another 1427 jarvis thats looking good and my own seed which was planted to late but still sneaking along

sorry everyone phillip informed me i put the wrong weight for my sproule plant up its correct weight is 584.5kgs minus 2kgs for the lifter straps so the true weight is 582.5 kgs my pb what a great year so far

well the last kin for the year another 1427 jarvis to be picked and stored for sydney easter show it'll loose some weight but thats better than going rotten last year i picked one it weighed 451 kgs and by show time it weighed 430 kgs

the hired scales say 641 kgs but you have to minus 3 kgs off for the lift straps its bigger than we thought pipster was here a couple of weeks ago and he thought it was 600 then i think its the biggest i know of in australia so far sure hope it doesnt rot between now and showtime its a big agriculture show the royal easter anyway this pumpkin nearly got pulled out when i lost the first half of its vine but i left it in and grew some new sections of vine and amazed me with the result

finally got my plants in running 3 weeks later than i would like to be growing 4 plants this year 1 out of my 638kg 1 out of my 450kg another 1427 jarvis and a 1727 ansems the 1727 ansems has been in 2 weeks longer than the others hope to get some pics up when they grow a bit

here is a pumpkin a mate of mine grew his name is john mills he lives at brunswick heads nsw about 20 minutes north of where i live the pumpkin matured early so he decided to pick it it tapes 364 inches it weighed 465 kilos and went nearly 7 percent heavy johns got another one on another vine but it is still a young fruit

better do an update the last one for this year well the 638 is stillhanging in there and growing its 59 dap and tapes 364 inches the hole on the stem still looks the same just have to wait and see if it makes it or not there is a weigh in on in kyogle in early february looking forward to see what shows up there

here is the 1727 ansems its put on a lot of size in the last week ribbing up like its maturing which seems a bit early as it is only 55 dap any way we will see how it goes it tapes 384 inches
