3 days, filed and soaked them for an hour. Planted 4 in 4in pot. Each one has germinated. Last year I had very little success in getting these same seeds to germ. I drowned them. By treating them like the hundreds of other seeds I have planted. Last year I would file soak and plant in soil that was wet to the point that when you squeezed only a drop of water would come out. This time I used 2 just barely damp and 2 that was dry and 1 with just a tablespoon of water. I'll add more water now

Screwed up the soil in my buckets almost killed my cherry's I think it was the azos and co2 and or sulfer from the garden soil I mixed in. Changed the mix. There recovering well now. there goes a week of growth. Or it could of been the azomite. Go to show ya, don't over do it.

Step 34, sprinkler lines

Tuesday, March 27 View Page
Dan's sprinklers are cool. They spray about a foot off the ground. They are tough to, my pump forced way to much presser through them they didn't break. Great product! Thanks Tom.

Wednesday, March 28 View Page
I'll be able to run the sprinkler pump using sprinkler timer and it will turn it on and off as needed. This is the Pump start relay wire diagram. I colored it in so I could understand it.

Thursday, March 29 View Page
I got the start up of the sprinkler pump all figured out thanks to the brainstorming of BP members. Using a sump pump float to keep the pump from running dry. Got a sprinkler pump relay that runs to the sprinkler timer. Now the pump turns on and off with the sprinkler solenoid. Cool.

Saturday, March 31 View Page
90 degrees today. Same tomorrow CRAZY. Lawn is getting long but I absolutely refuse to mow in March. What happen to April showers an that may flowers thing. Here the flowers have grown, lilacs have already bloomed. Better make this the best pumpkin year. With the end of the world and all. At least I won't have to prep the patch this fall. I just can't stand that I'll have to mow so much.

Sunday, April 1 View Page
I had to redo step 34. I had to many sprinklers heads on one line they lost pressure. Should of done it the way Starr farm said to. I do a lot of things wrong the first time.

Sunday, April 1 View Page
Here's another redo the sprinkler pump now works. I went up to 3/4 pvc. Thanks to some BP ideas there's a overflow that goes to the tank, it work to reduce the extra pressure. The sprinkler solenoid is a 1 inch. Now it all works off a Sprinkler timer. Plus there's a hose fitting.

Wednesday, April 4 View Page
Some change, I plan to do more tests so I can learn the swings.

Thursday, April 5 View Page
Tomatoes have been outside for quite while. No frost this year

Saturday, April 7 View Page
Another addition to the pump. This line from the 55 gallon drum is for fertilizer and applying tea trough the sprinkler. I can just dump them in the drum. Or back fill it then mix. Guess my motto could be, Go big or Go home. Ha

Tuesday, April 24 View Page
The problem with sprinkler solenoids is that they will leek with low presser. I read that they work from 20lbs to 120lbs. So to fix the fact that that wont seal all the way. I put the out flow tube higher then the water level, even if it leeks now the water wont be able to go over the water level. I asked my self why would I need a solenoid at all. Not sure but I think it will still be needed to stop it from strait siphon.

Tuesday, April 24 View Page
84 today 90 tomorrow. I had to drag in all my buckets Sunday night it got down to 35 but we got no frost. That was good I have 15 or plants in the ground. Look like I not out of the woods yet. Some more cold nights left.

Don't laugh. If your not trying crazy things life would be boring. 627 Grande. Sorry Wiz..ha. It was such a purrdy white pumpkin. Thinks I'll call him Whitey

Sunday, May 20 View Page
Fixed the water from continuing to siphon out. (I hope) I needed to add a way to add air to brake the siphon with new valve which doubles as a overflow to reduce the pressure. Now the old overflow is not needed. Also with the pvc over the water line, there is now no need for the solenoid to shut off the water. it levels in the pvc and wont go past with out the pump on. And I added a roof over the pump.

I took out the bag-boy today. Its all fun and games to put out a bunch of plants. But what I didn't think of, is that brings more chances of disease. Plus I didn't help that the dogs like to run though it. Smashing vines. bet it could of made it all the way. Maybe next year in the front yard, (don't tell the wife).

Thursday, August 2 View Page
I think I found the real problem. no water. I used a post hole digger and did some test spots the ground is dry. Even thou I water 250 gallons a day. (there's no run off) My mistake is watering at 11,1,3,and 5. Trying to keep my plant cool . I thought I was killing it with water. Turns out it was all evaporating. Now the soil is compacted too. so the yellowing is most likely a lack of nutrients. it all locked up in the dry soil. The only moister is in the top 2" of soil and the rest is a desert This drout is killing me. But I'm learning a lot. Ha.

Thursday, August 2 View Page
to help it I made a pvc deep rooter and I went allover and shoved water, 1 to 2 feet holes

Did some surgery. This is the stem on my marsh. It started getting some soft squishy spots on the surface. I've been scraping it off and putting sulfur on it. but there would get more under the repair. I clean it and tried straight danonail on it, it seamed to work the best. But then I found more on the underside of the stem. had to cut a lot out to get at it. Now I seeing if it will dry and heal? On a good note, I'm learning.

Sad to see him go. 81 days old, his stem rotted and started to go into the body. It was a fun ride. I'm planing to use the seed next year. I think he had to much going against him. The worst drought in 100 years. If it would of rained more then, 2 or 3 hours in his life, it would have been a different ending. Now there's a big empty spot in my patch.
