For my first diary entry ever i thought i should post a picture of last years pumpkin and my 7 year old daughter. At the weighoff in stillwater she proudly told Chris Stevens that she pollinated this pumpkin.

Sorry for the picture quality. This is the same pumpkin lit up for halloween. The weighoff and the kids reactions on trick or treat night made all the work worthwhile.

This is what i have to work with. A city garden that measures 370 sq feet of growing space shaped in an L. I managed 580 lbs out of it last year in my rookie season. Hopefully can improve. If only i could talk my neighbor into selling part of his yard....

Here is the 1610 lieber 5 days after germination. It isnt setting any record for early growth but appears healthy.

Today i brought home my new (actually quite old) pumpkin tractor. Seems to be a good runner. This summer I will probably spend my time away from growing the pumpkin to repaint this tractor in the original allis chalmers color- persian orange.
