Planted five pumpkin plants this evening. I'm a little worried with the 1381 Checkon. The cot leaves just aren't opening up to allow the first true leaf through. We'll see how she turns out. I'm excited about the 852 Myers. I wanted to cross it with a 923 Gerhardt, but it developed a club root and stopped growing.

First pollination of the year on the 1610 Lieber! Pollinated with the 852 Myers. Pictured is the 852 Myers(746 Snyder X 1059 Vincent/McGill) in front and the 692.5 Myers (1332 Wolf X 852 Myers). Should have some nice orange pumpkins in the patch this year!

Pollinated 2nd on 852 today. Nice 4 lober. Yesterday pollinated the 692.5 Myers by self (5 lobe) and 1543 Stevens (5 lobe). Very concerned about 1421 Checkon plant. May be pulling soon. Yellowing leaves and minimal growth. My 1610 Lieber is growing nicely but none of the males have opened up, which concerns me as well.

Here's a pic of the 852 Myers at day 20. A little scar early on the right, but will be pretty nonetheless.

The 692.5 Myers (1332.8 Wolf X 852 Myers) is pictured here at day 20. Oblong in shape. Not sure if she'll make it or not. Has a baseball sized growth on blossem end. I'm gambling here with her.

Yes, that's right. Brother Scott is done for the year. Had a nice 1807 Stelts going but with the combination of aborts and cucumber beetles, he has said "the h--- with it!" and pulled his plant. On a positive note, he'll have plenty of time to drink beer and catch up on some house cleaning....

Day 40 for my 692.5 Myers. Very pleased with the orange color. Not very pleased with the blossem end. Keeps chugging along. Plant is in great shape.

Here's my daughter, Sara, and the 692.5 Myers at day 56. Measurements are 164cc 97ss 99fb = 360ott. Starting to get some ribs and some stretch marks. The deep orange from the 852 (746 Snyder X 1059 Vincent/McGill) is definitely present. I'm glad I ended up planting this seed afterall.

After my first kin off of the 852 aborted earlier in the year at around day 30, I was fortunate to have planted a second plant near a spot where my 1381 Checkon plant was pulled due to issues. Hopefully, this fruit will continue to grow. About 110in. circumference today.

Here is my entry off of the 692.5 Myers (1332 Wolf x 852 Myers). Weighed in at 964 pounds. Was hoping for a personal best out of this kin but was not meant to be. Thank you to all for your kind thoughts on how pretty she is. Will get the seeds from her and they be forwarded to Jim and the boys at MAGPG. Good bunch of guys in the club. Had a great time at Roba's and had a few laughs with pumpkinjesus. Pray for me next time so I can get one to go heavy next time!

Here's brother Scott with the now 964 Myers. Had to listen to him talking smack the whole way home about it not making 1000 pounds. I guess its payback for the daily calls to him this season asking how his cover crop was growing after he lost his plant in July. All in good fun!
