no pics because i am lazy
1079 podraza 11: tilled soil area of about 375sq ft which is an increase of about 300 sq feet. Plant space of about 400-450sq feet. Last year my 1st year growing my goal was 500# for this area and it went 1079 with about 75 sq feet of tilled soil the resy of the plant was on lawn. I am not giving myself a goal other than keeping the plant healthy enough to do its job.
1426 wolf 10: tilled soil of about 250 sq feet. This is an increase of about 200 sq feet. Last year this area produce an 835 off of the 870 wolf. My goal for this space it to break 1K#.

Found this small split in the main of the 1079 this morning.
as you can see its fairly small. I washed it off and there is a small opening but the remainder of stem circumference seems fine. Thoughts?

1426 wolf pollinated on 6/20/12 with the 1079. left the irrigation on yesterday for way too long and this morning the underside of the stem on this one was split and dripping. The pumpkin and the main are fine.
The second set was pollinated on 6/24/12 with the 1634 werner. I am leaning towards this 2nd set which seems to be on the same pace as the 1st.

Made the decision, cut off the 1st set on the 1426,
The 2nd set is in a better position and has a football shape to it and has a better pollinator.

pollinations are set
the 1079 is doing well 129 ott to 143 ott in first day of measurements(poll 6/21/12) pumpkin is the exact same shape as last years.
1426 is slower no measurements yet (poll 6/24/12), shape is good. I think removing the first set slowed the growth.
both still have a back up later on the mains. The 1426 would probably be equal to the 1079 if I had kept the earlier set

both pumpkins are doing well, larger OTT for the same DAP vs. last year. The 1426 is on a faster pace vs. the 1079 but shape may be skewing teh measurements, The 1079 is very round and its largest daily growth is in cir, the 1426 is a symmetric rectangular block.
1079 day 23 ott 216 1426 day 20 ott 155
