After trying to grow a giant for the past three years, thanks to this site and other help, I believe I might actually get one this year. I have 5 in my garden and three are doing really well. I hope to polenate in by July 4th! This picture is from two years ago. New pics to follow.

Everythings looking so great. 5 plants doing well however, only the two Wuersching are getting up to 10 feet at this time. Kline's are struggling with smaller vines. Here's my best Wuersching as of today.

A) OTT 173 120 lb 52 lbs one week, day 22 B) OTT 153 86 lbs 33lbs one week, day 22 I think I'm doing ok for my first year of actually having giants set. I can only tell by comparing OTT of other growers. Some are so huge at the same date. Others, seem like I could be in the slow and steady growth time. Any advice would be very appreciated. If you read this, please send me your thoughts on growth in an e-mail. I am hoping to get at least 300 lbs. Is that possible with my numbers? I have 7 on5 plants.

OTT day 26 and day 23 A) 180; B) 163 C) 144; D) 161 E) 146 F) 66 Treated for powder mildew and it seems under control. Only occurred where canopy is shading some of the leaves. Plants are looking a bit ragged now. Still feeding Fish emulsion weekly. Will stop balance and go with all Potassium next week. I have to cull the second pumpkin (G) on plant A but still, can't bring myself to do it. I think I will today.

8/5 Here is Pumpkin A) The bean is 199 OTT B) 173; C 151; D) 179 E) 154; F)147 So, this year I am growing minature AG's!! Next year will be better. I am learning a lot from reading grower diaries and I can see the improvements I will make next year. Oh well, 184 lbs and growing. I just read remarks that this shape should be culled but this is on my, what I would consider, very health plant - it even has new hearty growth of leaves/vines. Both pumpkins on this plant are this shape (I haven't been able to cull the smaller one, it's so healthy!) I could do it if I thought I'd gain much. Look at all those Dill Rings. I suppose that would have happened to this one no matter the environment. I can't imagine how great it must feel to see the big daily growth. I get excited for my bitty's!
