I took advantage of the extremely warm winter we've had and tilled the entire patch today. I will need to add a few more amendments to the main patch and till it again. Early fair plant site is amended, tilled, covered. All I need to do to is is put the heating cables in within the next week or so. I'm shooting for the first week in April to germinate and set out the middle of April if the weather stays the way it is.

I started an 923 Gansert '11 (1059V/M x 1131Gansert) on 3/15/12 along with a 1159 Richards for my dad and daughter to try over at my dad's house. I may end up taking over the 1159 if my dad and daughter lose interest but hopefully they won't. Both germed on 3/18/12. The plan was to have them in ground by April 2nd but a death in the family pushed it back a bit. Plants went in the ground on 4/10/12. Both plants are doing well and running. The 923 is growing fast even though it was in a pot for 3 weeks. I will try and get some picts taken in the next few days.

Here is the 1159 Richards that my Dad & daughter are growing over at my dad's house. This one is a little slower than the 923 that I'm growing but it's vine is really big for a young plant. It is 3.5ft now growing 6 to 8" a day with nice side vines starting.

My 923 Gansert has made the transition from greenhouse to full open air. The plant is now around 10 to 11ft with a female in sight. Pollination should be in about 6 to 8 days.

166 Tootle (melon) and 137 Crews (field pumpkin) are up in 2.5 days after starting. My 923 Gansert suffered a couple broken side vines from some wind last night so some 3rd stage growth will fill in the holes.

This is my 923 Gansert. This pumpkin really faked me out. It started out this off white color and didn't start getting color until it started slowing down.

The plant and pumpkin was looking good until the drought and excessive heat in June. Unfortunately this pumpkin never had any high peaks in growth and only managed to top out at 20lbs a day.

I know that the scratches on the end won't come out but will they affect it's shape or growth?

I'm pretty sure this is the earliest I have had a melon set and ready. This thing has doubled in size in 24 hours which seems fast but maybe its' not.

Grow baby grow. Another double sized growth in 24 hours woohoo. Hopefully I can brake past 200lbs this year.

For the entire month of June and the first half of July, we had less than an inch of rain, a bunch of 100+ temps along with over a dozen 95+ days. Which is the main reason why I think my 923 Gansert did not grow very fast. I also had vine tip burns on my October plants. So much burn that it reduced my plant size to the point of pulling the plants.

Harvest Day. the 923 Gansert is estimating at 364. My camera is making the pumpkin look more orange than it actually is.
