First batch of pumpkins seeds were put in soil and into the germination box are the 1059 Vincent-McGill, 1080 Hunt, 1002 Kline/11, 1401 Privitara, 2-970 Johnson/09

First seed to germinate is the 1059 Vincent-McGill, the seed is about a 1/2 inch out of the soil this morning. 2.5 days ! not bad.

The 1401 Pritera is now out of the soil and is doing great, the 1002 is starting to show it's seed coat out of the soil. The 1059 V/M is coming along, kinda stalled out on me, so we will see.

The 1059 Vincent/McGill is by far my best plant so far, pollinated a 5 lobe flower this morning (selfed) about 8 feet out on the main.

1401 Privitera, not looking so hot these days, it is in the lower part of the patch where the soil has been pretty wet for sometime now. Do not want to add any ferts to the soil right now untill it dries up a bit more.

A little behind on my diary but here is whats going on, on June the 29th my wife pollinated a 5 lobe slightly deformed flower on the 1176 Lombardi. She crossed it with the 1059 Vincent/McGill. 10 feet out on the main.

On June 29th she also pollinated a multi-lobed flower on the 1059 Vincent/McGill at 11 feet out on the main. It also had seeds in the flower.

On July 2, I pollinated a perfect 5 lobe flower on the 1059 Vincent/McGill at 14 feet out on the main. Crossed it with the 1176 Lombardi.

On July 2nd I set a pumpkin on the 1401 Privitera at about 11 feet out on the main and crossed it with the 1059 Vincent/McGill. 5 Lobe flower, slightly deformed with no seeds.

Day 10 measurment on my 1059 V/M is only 18" cc. This was my only early polination. It is at 8 feet out on the main.

Day 10 for the 1401 Privitera and this is one of the best 10 day measurements I have ever had. Except I was a little late polinating this one, but the good thing is it is at 15 feet out on the main.

The 1176 Lombardi is starting to pick up speed now, now we are at 54 inches at day 19. The only draw back to this year is my plants seem to be smaller then previous years.

Well I have'nt posted for a while so here goes, the 1401 Pritera had troble this year. It sufferd from lack of mangenese and also I discoverd the vine was kinked! So the 1401 will not be doing anything this year. It's starting to crack at the stem. Estimated weight is around 300 lbs.

The 1176 Lomabardi also lacked manganese and before I got my supply of manganese i lost about 40% of the plant.The pumpkin is sitting around 650lbs.

My biggest pumpkin in the patch is the 1059 Vincent/McGill the ott is at 342 inches. Thats 100 lbs behind from last year, o well! gonna be a nice orange:) though.

The weight of the 1059 Vincent/McGill ended up to be 1187 lbs. It measured out at 391 ott and came in about 9% light.
