Hello Everyone, This is an incredible Web Site. I appreciate the info and all it has to offer and to see what other people do with this crazyness of Giant Pumpkin Growing. My 9 yr old Daughter and I live in the Rural western Illinois area and are enjoying growing all types of Veggies, Strawberries, Blackberries, Rhubarb, Plums, Peaches, Pears Apples and yes........Pumpkins. I had a real bad problem with SVB's this spring and summer so I've got them wiped out and so here is what I've got growing and Pollinated as of the late 2nd week and 3rd week of August/11. If you see me doin something wrong please tell me....I will never claim to be an expert at nothin.....(Gets you into Trouble!!) I'm goin on yrs of experience in the civil engineering field of water and wastewater treatment and the Biological aspects of lab analysis with nitrogens and all kinds of neat emplimentary calcium types and Blah, Blah, Blah. You would be suprised (or maybe not) on how much knowledge can be transfered to growing plants and veggies to an optimum expecially the waste water side with all the nutrient breakdown thru digesters and detention times with fertilizers that surround our daily lives, hint, hint lol........Thanks and good luck to all!

You can see the digester Feeding tubes in the patch. The sun heats these up great and helps quickly breakdown sugars and helps with the natural nitrogen numbers. They are perferated at the bottoms and filled with sugars, Calsiums, Nitrats (all Disolved solids type), Wine, Sunny D,(sowered) Sweet Horse Feed, Eggs and shells detergents, river moss, emulsified fish matter, emulsified goat manure and believe me much much more lol. I've exploded more than what I have growing because of too much heat growth. I can regulate the temp. at fermintation to the rate of how much food detention time is at the root base along with PH and sometimes I get greedy lol

This is "Sugar" at 7 days. Should I have just culled this one? There were three too choose from on this vine, they were all the same shape and she is the one I went with because of her growth rate. OH well...we'll watch her and see what happens.
