Hello, my name is Raimund and it is my second year growing big pumpkins. Today I decided to start a diary here on bp.com as well, giving all growers over the world the chance to follow my season here in bavaria.

The 691 Edwards 06 planted today as well. I hope very much, not getting a flatvine because the plant threw two first true leaves.

Planted the 523 Helbock 06 today. It is a very small plant. We will have a challange here in europe: 523 Olsen 05 vs 523 Helbock 06. Unfortunately, we had big problems in germinating the 523 Helbock seeds. Only a few growers have got a seedling, so I will give him a chance...

It is time for an update here on bp.com There is growing on each plant one pumpkin now. Only on the squashplant are remaining two. On the 539 Wittenberg* I had enormous problems to get some fruits set. Big plant - alot of pruning to do and wheely fruits! Here is the bigger one ~57lbs:

551 Christensen: backup plant outside the patch. But it is the last verified cross, which left for this year. My patch is about 20km far away from my home, and there was no chance to pollinate in the early morning very often. So all the other pumpkins are open pollinated. Here it is: 551Christensen06 x 691Edwards06 ~148lbs
