Here is the crummy soil I have this is virgin ground river run type soil lots of rocks with clay base going to need lots of organic so, I was kind of surprised they did as well as they did.

This is my second year after starting garden at work I started with 4 raised beds when I got the ok to use the reclaimed backwash water that we would usually pump to perk ponds, I have added 4 each year.

So word got out about the garden, we have a local Ukiah pumpkinfest, which they had a need for corn stalks to decorate for the festivity's and pumkin weight off. I was so excited I now had an excuse to break ground even if it isn't the greatest dirt a lot of construction has gone on here.

3 of the skyscraper corn cobs only one had a decent kernel set I have several more, I am impressed by the size hope the rest are better, I didn't plant in clumps so part my fault but did assist pollination on others they seem to tassel early before silks are ready.

Ground was to soft for tractor so I rigged this for the little mule to smooth and cover seeds it worked pretty good. Piece or scrap welded wire ranch panel some cinder blocks for weight and a chain.
