Have not grown pumpkins in two years but excited for 2016. Long TO DO list: soil test, amendments, plant a cover crop, work out a misting system, work out a watering system, build a couple small hoop houses, gather material for walking boards, figure out some type of wind fencing, deer fence, decide what to plant. Started the war with the pocket gophers today, set five traps this morning...

Red wrigglers didn't waste time finding the dirt

Night Crawlers stayed clumped together and took their sweet time. They finally started moving around.

I found it funny that the newspaper the worms were wrapped in for shipping included the comics, especially this one

Was able to spend some time yesterday on the patch. I borrowed the neighbors tractor and mowed and rototilled. I wanted to do it a month ago. The weeds grew really fast with all the rain then sunny high 70 temps. Some of the weeds had already started going to seed.

Both 781 and the three 1134 popped roots, nothing from the three 1177. I started a couple more this morning just in case I don't get my 1177 to root.
Sunday, April 17 View Page
All three 1177 are in pots. They just took a couple days. Nothing from the back up 1583 VanderWielen or the 1947 Clementz, it is only been a day and half. The 1134 Rea and 781 Engel were up in less than 24. I told the girls fishing is best morning or evening, they wanted to go anyway. Only one bluegill and a couple hits from a bass, but they stuck it out for almost two hours

Tomatoes have some fruit set... I let them grow a little too long before I thinned them out. I like to grow them on a single vine.
