Received a nice surprise in the mail today...Thanks Mark! This is my first year growing AG, I've been studying non-stop for 2 months now! (just ask my wife lol) I grew up on a farm here in PA so I know a thing or two about growing, but giant pumpkins have always fascinated me.

This is the home patch. Approx 700 square feet with brick walkway down the middle. Winter rye and hairy vetch growing to the right and aged cow manure (10-15 years old) with hay on top to the left. The manure was sitting all winter and will be planting buckwheat there soon. That will be tilled once the plant reaches it.

1495 Stelts came up today! Used an egg incubator to germinate - 3 days at 90 degrees. Man I was so nervous it wasn't going to come up with this being my first time growing good seeds. Have him under the grow lights now about to put into a bigger pot.

Planted the 1495 Stelts in the hoop house today. Yesterday tilled half the patch at the farm and added amendments. For the farm I'll be going with the 1674.5 Connolly, 1037.5 Jarvis squash, 125.5 PSweet field pumpkin, and 1509.5 PSweet for backup.

This was the second female on the main vine. First one wasn't out far enough and was on the wrong side ... plus I wanted the plant a little bigger. Pollinated on June 23rd.
