Now is probably a good time to mention that I'm new to giant pumpkin growing. Last season I started with an Atlantic giant but it only lasted about 3 weeks. Then I had to start over with Prizewinner Hybrid variety. My season ended early again thanks to hurricane Irene. Despite all that I ended up with a very pretty 91 lb pumpkin. This year I'm trying again with Atlantic Giants and very excited to see how the season goes!
