I have a busy summer ahead of me (starting with spending a week in England in June), so I really have to keep my gardens low-key this year. I still hope to grow at least two competition plants. Amendments to my competition patch since last fall have been minimal due to a lack of time mostly, but I guess it's good to let it sit for a while after a few seasons of additions. The ground never really froze up this year, so I hope to take soil tests in the next week for my competition and primary eating gardens. Installing a slightly more practical irrigation system in my competition patch this year. As of now, I think I'm going to grow three plants, the 1556 Rodonis, 275 Van Hook, and 800* Neily, to leave room for field pumpkins, long gourds, and some giant melons.
