Probably lost my main plant today due to a rookie mistake. The main was growing toward the sky like a redwood. Tried to make it lay down faster than it wanted to; result, a kinked vine.
It was a 1924.5 Barlow and I had high hopes for it. Thinking about turning a side vine into the new main.
So last week I had to light the pilot light on the heater in the house when the high was only in the forties one day.
Now I've got the shade cloth back on with an epic heat wave coming in.
Usually we only get heat like this when I'm trying to pollinate.
