so after an eventful seed starting fiasco My lineup has been altered somewhat. Both my 1770 liebers are gone, an 870 wolf is gone and the bubble with the remaining 870's is MIA (sorry Andy) I am left with 1498 werner at 3rd leaf and ready to go in the ground. I germed the following in the paper towel method (5) 388 Langley (1054 van Hook x 1566 Rodonis) 1421 Boyce (1634 Werner X 991 Urena) 2nd 1498 Werner (1495 Stelts x 1634 Werner) The following are still in the paper towel and have not sprouted 1054 Van Hook (1566 Rodonis x 1450 Wallace) 1145.5 Van Hook ( 1161 Rodonis x 1450 wallace) 723 Kaczenski (988 Janowiak x 1059 Vincent Mcgill)

Only thing left now is 150 Sq foot plant. it will be either 388 Langley or 1054 Van Hook.

Flat Norm's super secret brew
Friday, May 17 View Page
pulled hoop off 1145.5 van hook and the secret seed. these 2 have been sharing hoop. it was the hoop with the foil backed insulation. the plants were tilting towards the light so i figured full sun would help today. Well a woodchuck was waiting in the shadows. I came home from work for dinner and to close up hoops, found both plants mangled. missing the full leaves, the grow tips seem untouched. but plants are definaitely in bad shape. Sent out an SOS email and hopefully a local grower has a backup he dont need. will start some other seeds tonight after work just incase.

set out trap for woodchuck. soaked 899 Pennington, 1258.5 Menting, 908.8 lovelace, 441 Barenie, 1286.5 Daletas and 602.5 Linford. First 2 plants to first true leaf go in woodchuck slaughter spot. they can fight it out there.

Here's the 1290.5 Helsel, complete with groundhog damage. walked right past the trap, ate all my daughters beans, ripped more of her flowers up, and helped himself to the pkn plant. looks like apples don't work at all. So trap is now baited with mangos.

wood chuck visited again. walked right past trap and helped himself to evry plant in the garden. only thing spared was tomatoes and cushaw squash. pkns are pretty much done. squash is unrecoverable i think. 2 conibear traps are on order and will be here withing the next week. Too little too late though. this marks the end of my 2013 season.

went for a walk to day and found wht appears to be a woodchuck hole just over in my neighbors yard. thing is this is on the opposite side that i have seen the woodchuck,so perhaps I have multiple visitors. explains the amount of damage. moved the have a heart trap to right in front of his hole. hopefully it will be full tonight. Now I just need to find the other woodchuck den on the other side of the property. My order of conibear traps can't get here fast enough.
